Penny LaGreca is the founder and a Principal of Pentana Stanton Lawyers. She established the firm with the objective of providing accessible, considered legal services to individuals, families, and businesses across Melbourne's south-east corridor and the broader metropolitan area. She leads the firm's Family Law department and maintains an active practice across Wills and Estates, Employment Law, and Commercial Law from the firm's Melbourne CBD and Dandenong offices. Under her leadership, the firm has developed a reputation for delivering straightforward, client-focused legal work across each of its practice areas.
Penny graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Jurisprudence and a Bachelor of Laws and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria at an early stage of her career. She has since completed a Master of Laws, with specialisations in Family, Commercial, and Employment Law, together with a Master of Wills and Estates Law and a Master of Family Law. These qualifications reflect a sustained commitment to deepening her expertise across the areas of law most relevant to her practice and her clients.
Prior to establishing Pentana Stanton Lawyers, Penny spent over a decade at Monash University, where she taught and tutored in the law faculty and contributed to the development of legal course materials. During that period, she was responsible for guiding students through core and elective subjects, preparing them for practice and equipping them with the analytical skills required of the profession. Her time in academia gave her a thorough grounding in legal research, statutory interpretation, and the structured analysis of complex factual scenarios — skills she continues to apply in her day-to-day practice.
In private practice, Penny has advised on matters spanning Family Law, Wills and Estates, Employment Law, Commercial and Contract Law, Negligence, and Personal Injuries. She has acted for individuals, small and medium enterprises, and families across a broad spectrum of legal issues, from commercial negotiations and employment disputes to succession planning and injury claims. This breadth of experience has given her a well-rounded understanding of how legal issues intersect and how different areas of law can bear upon a single client's circumstances.
Penny's principal area of practice is family law. She regularly advises and acts in parenting disputes, property settlement proceedings, spousal maintenance claims, and matters involving allegations of family violence. She has experience in both negotiated outcomes and contested litigation in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, and she is familiar with the particular demands of proceedings that involve expert evidence, complex asset structures, and cross-jurisdictional considerations. Penny takes a measured approach to family law matters, recognising that each case carries personal and financial implications that extend well beyond the immediate legal issues.
Alongside her family law practice, Penny undertakes work in contested estates, including claims under Part IV of the Administration and Probate Act 1958 (Vic) and disputes concerning the validity of wills, the construction of testamentary instruments, and the administration of deceased estates. Her combined expertise in family law and estates law is of particular value in matters where family relationships, succession planning, and property interests overlap.
Penny is committed to providing clear, practical advice that is tailored to the circumstances of each client.
